Skin Care Products That Can Make You Look Gorgeous

Caring for your skin is always necessary but it is important to realize that you should take it seriously. It is possible to get very cheap products but such items might not do the trick. There is no point applying a lotion or cream which will give little or no results. There are many types of skin care products on the market, some for anti-aging, some for acne, some for firming and many other kinds too.

At your nearest department store you will see plenty of diverse brands and different versions of skin care products but be wary of cheap prices. Many of the cheaper alternatives do not contain the best ingredients for your skin and might be made up of cheap fillers and even ingredients which might cause irritation. It is often best to buy the best skin care products you can afford. Whereas an expensive price tag does not necessarily mean the product is better than anything cheaper, many of the very cheap ones are not worth thinking about. We will have a look now at some of the more serious skin care products and their ingredients.

Skin Care Products for Acne

If you have acne, the odds are high that you have tried some cheap lotions and potions which claim to cure the problem, in order to save money and because, if they work, you will not have had to buy the more expensive version. The truth is that, in the long run, you actually spend more. This is because you first buy all the cheap products, find they do not work, and then spend more money on better quality products, wishing you had gone for those in the first place. Acnezine is an example of a high quality acne product which is proven to be very effective for acne sufferers. This product is available for purchase online.

Acnezine comes with a moisturizing cream especially for acne sufferers and capsules to take daily during the course of the treatment. The capsules contain antioxidants such as Vitamins E and C and the moisturizer contains soothing, all-natural ingredients, such as Goldenseal extract, Calendula extract and Aloe Vera extract. It might not be the cheapest acne product on the market but remember you get what you pay for. If you want to end the embarrassment and discomfort of acne as soon as possible, you should try a quality product such as this one. If it does not work, the company promises you a refund so you cannot lose.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Products

Lots of people are interested in products which claim to reduce the signs of aging and prevent wrinkles. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of skin care products making these claims. When you are going to spend money on such a product, obviously you would prefer something that is going to have some beneficial effect on your skin. Anti-aging skin care products come in all price brackets but you should be wary about the very cheap ones. It might be worth spending a little more on a higher quality cream or lotion to make sure your skin is going to look as good as possible.

An example of a great anti-aging product is Revitol. You have probably heard the name but perhaps not had the chance to try it yet. Revitol anti-aging solution is certainly worth the money because tests have proven that it is effective. The product noticeably reduces fine lines and wrinkles, leaving your skin looking much younger. The ingredients of Revitol include Matrixyl, Idebenone and Shea Butter. You can buy this online and, if you do not like it, you can send it back within ninety days for a refund.

Moisturizers

Moisturizing your skin is of the utmost important and you need a moisturizer that will keep your skin healthy and looking fresh. Olay Total Effects Moisturizer is a very good moisturizer. You can buy it in nearly every department store or drugstore and it is a great, serious skin care product, even if it is not the cheapest product available.

Olay Total Effects Moisturizer is designed to give complete moisturizing protection and prevent aging too. The product does not contain oil (which is unnecessary) but it does contain VitaNiacin, Vitamin E and ProVitamin B5. Healthy Skin Face Lotion by Neutrogena is another excellent moisturizing product, which contains Vitamins C and E, sunscreen and Alpha-Hydroxy Acid.

Five Tips for Moisturizing Your Skin

You will know that moisturizing is vital for clear, fresh, young-looking skin but not everyone is aware of how to moisturize properly. Here are five tips to help you make the most of your moisturizer:

1. Cleanse then Moisturize – You should cleanse your face well and then applied some kind of toner. After that, your skin is damp, warm and ready to accept the moisturizer and allow it to soak in and work.

2. Don't Use Too Much – Using too much moisturizer is a bad idea. It does not mean your face will be extra moisturized but rather your pores might get clogged. Clogged pores lead to breakouts so only use as much moisturizer as your skin needs.

3. Moisturize Twice a Day – It is good to moisturize twice a day, once after cleansing your skin in the morning and once after cleansing before you go to bed at night

4. Buy the Right Moisturizer for You – Using the wrong moisturizer can lead to problems. People who have dry skin are going to require a different moisturizer from those who have oily or sensitive skin.

5. Drink Plenty of Water – You need to make sure your skin has adequate water from the inside as well as the outside. Drinking eight glasses of water or more each day helps to keep your skin well moisturized and healthy.

How To Choose A Skin Care Moisturizer Cream

Two different products to choose from.... lotions versus creams

Lotions: have more water content are used more in body applications

Creams: are more concentrated are used for "problem areas" eg. the eyes, as wrinkle creams

Selecting The Best Skin Care Moisturizer Cream

What type of skin do you have? Is your skin normal, oily, dry? Once you have those questions answered you can concentrate on the product selection. There is only ONE main rule to keep in mind in your selection process.

"What goes on your skin will be absorbed into the bloodstream". This a very important point. Many skin care products are chemical based, one main concern is that chemicals individually can be toxic, but when combined, research is showing that many form nitrosomines ( a very potent carcinogen).

What To Avoid

Chemicals

If the ingredient list on the label are those which only a scientist would know, my rule of thumb is if you don't know what it is don't use it. You don't have to be the fall guy for questionable ingredients. As mentioned above this could be a deadly combination.

Many skin care products ingredients are derived from petroleum. Here is an example. Benzine. Benzine is a petroleum derivative and is in the top ten of the most dangerous chemicals, a very potent carcinogen.

Anyone want to guess where it is used? That's right, in cosmetics, in the form of acetone in nail polish remover, also used as an astringent. So why do they use them? Because chemicals and fillers are dirt cheap and profit is king, not you.

Artificial Fragrances And Color

One of the leading causes of allergies and skin reactions. There can be 100's of chemicals used in that "sweet smelling" fragrance that are toxic to the body and the skin. Because fragrance creation is "unique," by law, manufacturers do not have to list ingredients that are considered "trade secrets",which means anything could end up in that product.

The Best Choice

The most benefit will always be from all natural ingredients.Despite the fact this is the 21century we haven't changed physically from 20,000 years ago. We are a natural species on this planet and like all species will always respond and depend on the natural ingredients of nature. That is what our body needs to survive, this is what we need to thrive and this what keeps us healthy including our skin. The best selection of ingredients for your skin that will give outstanding results will always be from essential oils and pure botanicals.

The really good all natural botanical skin creams do a lot more than just moisturize. These creams also sooth, heal and nourish the skin. Natural skin products that are all natural in every sense of the word are best. Creams are a better value than lotions, creams are concentrated, you use much less.

Pure Botanicals And What They Can Do For You.... Just a partial list

does not clog pores, rejuvinates the skin, regenerates new skin cells, penetrates deep into the skin, small molecular structure for quick absorption restores tone, improves texture, softness and suppleness smooths fine lines and wrinkles maintains ph of skin, powerful antiaging

So I leave you to consider which choice is best, many times and many years from now nature will always be the great healer. No chemical or synthetic anything ever will.

Dermatologist Recommended Skin Care - Not Always The Right Choice

Dermatologist skin care products used to attract me. In the past I had little faith if any of the over the counter skin care products. If there was no dermatologist recommended skin care product I would just walk away. Since childhood I had used many dermatologist skin care products because I was not pleased with the cards mother nature had given me. No matter whatever product I tried I still saw room for improvement. My parents spent a lot of money in my teen years buying on a monthly basis boxes and boxes of skin care products. To fight acne I tried products that would dry my skin which gave me mass irritation. My skin finally began to develop rashes that spread all over my face and provided me with a new problem to fight against.

What I didn't understand was that my dermatologist skin care products were part of the problem. You see, dermatologist recommended skin care products very rarely use a light touch. The whole point of going to a skin care dermatologist is receiving something that will work, and work now. Dermatological skin creams many times have steroids, antibiotics, or other harsh ingredients. For severe problems, it can be just what the doctor ordered, but for milder issues, it can often make the problem much worse.

Unfortunately, I didn't understand this fact until much later. By the time I gave up my faith in dermatologist skin care , I was no longer coping with the problems of youth, but with those of age. I went to my dermatologist for anti aging creams, wrinkle removers, and similar kinds of other stuff like that. My skin looked mottled to me, and although my friends insisted that there was nothing wrong with it, I thought differently. Unfortunately, all that my dermatologist could do was to irritate my skin further.

Luckily, one of my friends took me to a cosmetics store and pointed out to me what was what. She had gone to the doctor to get dermatologist skin care products when she was younger too, so she knew all about it. In her case, however, some of the dermatologist recommended skin care products had caused a harsh reaction. She had not done well with the steroidal cream they had given her, and it made her very sick. She had learned the hard way what she was showing me the easy way: that sometimes over the counter skincare is the better way to go.

Skin Care: No pimples-No marks-No wrinkles and No aging

When you have born, you were soft, smooth and silky like rose petals. And when you grow, sometimes you may feel after a period of say 30 years or so, your skin turns into some thorns closer to the rose flowers.

Your skin sometimes gets roughened due to exposure to Sunlight, polluted air, dry wind, hot and cold weather, rain and chemically polluted water. The skin loses moisture and oils and becomes dry. The pores of oil glands also get blocked by the dusts and dirt. The place of oil glands harbors fungi and bacteria and allows them to grow into scales.

Turns Thorny needs removal!

White and black heads emerge allowing more of dandruffs, dead cells accumulation on the skin. These will turn into pimples, acnes, psoriasis presenting a shabby skin show on the face, neck, head and scalp. When it spreads, it may form eczema down the neck any where on the body surface and on the hands and legs. You will understand that this is undoubtedly right time to take care of the skin, a natural coat to the entire body.

Skin Care is a routine happy affair!
However, skin care starts right from the day of the child’s birth. Application of mild soap, baby oil, cold cream, sandal and turmeric powders etc protects a baby in her earlier days. But, skin care needs to be taken more scientifically in the growth period or when found the skin is affected.

Removal of dandruff, cleaning and toning up the skin, exfoliating and moisturizing the skin are the regular process in a skin care, if the skin is found to be infected. This is a simple routine work for a beautiful woman to maintain her modesty.

1. Cleansing the Skin:

Cleansing is quite indispensable to avoid pimples, acnes and other skin problems. Wash your skin time and again using a mild face wash and wipe off with a clean wash cloth. It is quite essential to get rid of any impurities such as dirt particles and makeup residues before going to sleep so that your skin can breathe properly at night. Use mild cleanser at least twice a day; make sure that it rinses away easily; cause no skin irritation and do not wash away natural body oils too.

2. Toning the Skin:

Toners clean the skin further and help in removing any leftovers of particle on the skin. But a toner cools, nourishes, hydrates and freshens up your skin. It tightens up skin and seal up any skin pores opened while deep cleansing the face. Toners must be alcohol-free as they dry off the skin.

3. Exfoliating the Skin

Exfoliants get rid of dead cells from the skin, rejuvenate the skin and remove fine lines and wrinkles from the face. After exfoliation, the younger skin that surfaces looks more beautiful and glowing. These products usually have alpha or beta hydroxyl-acids to quicken up the process. But, do avoid the ones that are granular as they tend to damage the new skin.

4. Moisturizing the Skin

Like our inner body, our outer skin also needs re-hydration and intake of proper nutrients to keep it healthy. So, treat it with a good moisturizer and a night cream daily that helps the skin to balance and restore any damage that might have occurred.

Do you want a single cream that acts as a Skin Cleanser and Toner cum Exfoliant and Moisturizer?

Now, it is made thus and available in a single product form in skin care industry. If you start using the miracle cream when you feel so, it is right time and right choice as a single product. Just keep it with you at your bed side. It is an insurance against all odds in skin care.

Taking Care of Your Dry Skin

If you are like most people, you have dry skin in some areas of your face and on the rest of your body. You may have a combination of dry, normal and oily skin, sometimes all in approximately the same area. It doesn't seem possible, but you can have oily skin around your nose, as well as fine lines from dry skin radiating from your nose and mouth, for instance. This type of combination skin presents its own set of problems, because you don't want to irritate your already dry skin with tough astringents meant for oily skin. Similarly, you don't want to use too much moisturizer near your oily skin. Fortunately there are products on the market that allow you to treat both dry skin and other skin types simultaneously.

It's especially crucial to begin taking care of your dry skin as early in life as possible, even before you notice your skin is dry. Certainly you don't want to wait until you already have fine lines or even wrinkles before you think about starting a regimen of daily moisturizing.

When you were a child, your mom probably nagged you on a daily basis to wash frequently with soap and water. She wasn't satisfied unless you scrubbed your face until it shined with a pink glow. But when you get a little older, you realize that kind of cleaning regimen is the last thing your skin needs. Even your hands will suffer if you use harsh soaps too often.

It's at this stage that you begin to realize the importance of using a moisturizer. Instead of scouring your face with a soapy washcloth, your routine should involve generous applications of moisturizer after a gentle cleansing with warm, not scalding, water, and a gentle cleansing cream.

There are products made just for your face, or some that you can use all over your body. With so many products available, it's just a matter of trial and error to find the right one for you.

Of course you can avoid costly mistakes by doing some research first. Ask friends and family what products have worked best for them. Remember though that your own skin is unique. You might check online for product reviews, and you can certainly comparison shop easily from the comfort of your armchair on the internet.

Discover The Truth About Dry Itchy Skin

For many years, a lot of us relied on Unilever and Vaseline for dry skin care. But, their so-called solution to dry itchy skin may have actually caused the problem. It also causes premature aging of the skin. Are you starting to look older than you really are?

Petrolatum, petroleum jelly and mineral oils are the staples for dry skin care products. The petroleum byproducts are widely available and very affordable, but they aren’t at all compatible with the skin’s natural oil, which is called sebum.

Sebum provides moisture, protects against infections and prevents cracking. It is produced by the sebaceous glands. If they secrete too much, you have excessive oiliness and sometimes acne. If they secrete too little, you have dry itchy skin. If left unchecked, you may end up with a lot of other problems, such as cracking, flaking and wrinkling.

Petrolatum is not a good moisturizer at all, because it does not penetrate. It may seem to be absorbed, but it’s not. Really, it just sort of “dries up” or evaporates.

The best dry skin care creams contain plant oils that are very similar to sebum, so they penetrate deeply and are very effective for relieving dry itchy skin. Many of the most effective ones also “balance” sebum production, so that you don’t end up with some oily spots and some dry ones.

Look for avocado, macadamia, grape seed and olive oils. Capuacu and Shea butter are also effective. Jojoba is like a liquid wax and is one of the oils that balance sebum production.

You may not realize it, but dry skin care is also anti-aging skincare. People with naturally oily skin are more resistant to the effects of aging. They have fewer wrinkles and less sagging.

Some of the most effective moisturizers have been designed for use in anti-wrinkle creams, but some of them were actually created to address dry itchy skin that typically accompanies contact dermatitis.

One of these is Functional Keratin.

Keratin is a protein found in human skin. Functional Keratin is a new ingredient that cosmetic companies and other manufacturers can use in their dry skin care creams or other lotions.

It contains tiny protein fragments that penetrate deeply and can be used by the cells to repair damage. Researchers have shown that it relieves dry itchy skin caused by detergent related dermatitis. They have also shown that it reduces wrinkles. It helps to prevent moisture loss by creating an invisible barrier that “locks it in”. It is the most effective dry skin care ingredient on the market.

There’s another things that you should be aware of.

Alcohols in other health and beauty aids may be the cause of your dry itchy skin. After shave, body gel, antibacterial soaps, perfumes and many other products contain large amounts of alcohol, which is very drying.

You should also remember to eat right, take a multi-vitamin and drink plenty of purified water. Excessive dryness can be a symptom of chronic dehydration or nutritional deficiency. Hopefully, this will help you find the right dry skin care regimen and solve your problem.

Herbs For Natural Skin Care Must Be Matched To Your Skin Type

Herbal skin care products are becoming more popular, but different herbs have different properties. Unless you know what those properties are, you could wind up with preparations that make dry skin drier and oily skin oilier. Herbal products are always a good idea if you are a fan of natural skin care, but find out which are best before you buy.

Here are the basics that you need to know: dry skin needs herbs with emollient properties. Emollients soften and soothe the skin, and help replace some of the skin's natural oils. Oily skin needs astringents to tighten the skin, close the pores and help heal the blemishes that are more prominent with this skin type. As blemishes can become infected it is also a good idea to combine astringent herbs with those that have antiseptic properties. Normal skin needs neutral herbs - those with neither astringent nor emollient properties.

Some of the most common emollient herbs are comfrey, violet, elder flowers, irish moss and marshmallow. Astringent herbs include marigold, calendula and witch hazel. Fortunately, each of these astringent herbs also have antiseptic and healing properties, so they are doubly good for oily skin. For those with blemished dry skin, add a little thyme.

A word of warning about marigold - make sure you get pot marigold. The other one you may run into is French marigold - very toxic, used for weed killer and insecticides and definitely not suitable for natural skin care.

Normal skin responds best to thyme or yarrow. Both have cleansing and toning properties, but are neither astringent nor emollient. They are very refreshing.

Although these herbs are available as extracts and in a variety of ready-made natural skin care products, you can make them quite simply at home. Soak the herbs in hot water for about 30 minutes, keeping the heat on during that time but never allowing them to boil. After cooling, strain out the herbs and pour the liquid into a bottle for use. Simply pat the preparation on the skin, leave it on for 10 - 30 minutes, rinse off and dry.

Another great advantage to making your own skin care products is that you know exactly what's in them. Products that you buy, while they may contain beneficial herbs, may also contain other ingredients that are harsh or toxic, or may not be right for your skin type. Try adding these to your natural skin care basic routine for a week or two and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Facial Skin Care Products - 5 Tips To Keep Your Skin Looking Younger

Apart from having a daily skin care regimen consisting of cleansing, toning, moisturizing and exfoliating regularly, there are some other ways to help your skin keep looking younger and more rejuvenated.

Below are five simple tips anyone can benefit from:

Tip 1: If you wear makeup often, invest in a proper makeup remover to remove all traces of the makeup. Not removing makeup from your skin properly clogs it up and limits the amount of air circulating on the skin, causing the skin to become dryer and oilier. Water will not remove makeup effectively.

Tip 2: Before investing in facial skin care products, make sure that you take particular notice of your skin type, as well as the type of environment that you are in most of the time. For example, if you are outdoors most of the time, you may want to choose products that contain sunscreen in them or have extra moisturizers to help keep skin rejuvenated and avoid damage. If you have oily skin, use products formulated especially for oily skin.

Tip 3: When you buy a new facial skincare product, make sure that you test it an inconspicuous part of your face first before applying it to your whole face. Many people have sensitive skin types and when they try a new product, it may cause a reaction such as a rash. By testing a small part of your skin, such as behind the earlobe, you will know if you have a sensitivity to the skin care product without running the risk of having a rash over your face.

Tip 4: Never be rough with your skin. By rubbing or scrubbing at your face, you are not making it cleaner. In fact, you are probably causing it a great deal of damage since the skin is so delicate. Have a daily skincare regimen and gently apply skincare products to your face with a cotton ball or soft tissues. Never use anything harder than those - scrubbing brushes are for scrubbing hands and nails, not faces.

Tip 5: Protect your skin with moisturizing sunscreens. Always use a maximum protection sunscreen, especially if you are out in the sun or wind for long periods of time. One of the leading causes of premature aging is sun and wind damage. As well as using sunscreen, make sure to wear a hat out in the sun to protect your skin.

By following some simple cost effective tips such as the ones listed above and choosing good-quality facial skincare products and using them regularly, you can reduce the risk of premature aging quite substantially. Remember to moisturize regularly this is the most important part of taking care of your skin.

Post Summer Skin Care - 5 Tips For Reviving Your Skin

Although autumn has been with us for awhile, the telltale signs of summer fun in the sun still remain on our skin. Exposure to chlorine water in pools can strip our skin of essential oils, leaving it dry. Hours of extra time spent outdoors in the sunshine can also cause dryness and uneven skin tones. A little extra post summer skin care enables you to put your best fall face forward.

- First of all, continue to use a sunscreen. You can choose a moisturizer or foundation that has a sunscreen in it to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays that exist all year round.

- Exfoliate your skin to remove dead skin cells. After the summer season, there is a lot of dry skin left all over your body as a result of exposure to the sun, surf and chlorine water. The top layers of dead skin cells can be gently removed with a clay mask, warm water and a soft cotton washcloth to reveal the healthier, new skin beneath it.

- Choose a richer moisturizer to heal the damage done from the summer, as well as to protect your skin from the upcoming cold, windy weather. Select a moisturizer that will replenish the essential oils your skin lost and allow your skin to build a protective barrier for the winter without clogging your pores. A non-comedogenic moisturizer that incorporates natural ingredients is your best option.

- Continue to drink lots of water, even though you may not be as thirsty. It is natural to drink the right amount of water during the summer season to rehydrate. However, it is essential to rehydrate all year long and drinking six to eight glasses of water a day helps to keep your skin properly hydrated and looking its best. Of course, a healthy diet and avoiding cigarette smoking also shows on your skin.

- Wear a hat. During the summer, it serves to protect your face from the sun. In the colder months, you can wear a warmer hat with a brim to serve two important purposes - protect your skin from UV rays and keep your head warm.

With a little extra post summer skin care, your healthy summer glow can keep its glimmer throughout the colder months. After all, taking proper care of your skin reaps healthy rewards all year round.

Adult Acne Care, Skin Care Is Not Skin Deep

The saying "beauty is only skin-deep" cannot be truer than in regards to adult acne. Studies have proven that topical acne creams and cleansers are simply not enough to stop acne in its tracks.

Recent studies claim that what you put into your body may be more important than what you put on your skin. It can't be denied that acne skin care treatments can help acne, but the majority of acne products are topical, meaning that they go on the surface of your skin. So, it's not far fetched to think that these products simply treat the symptom of something greater that's going on inside your body.

With a few easy changes to your lifestyle, you can get to the root of your adult acne problem and maybe even find a cure. This may sound like a big task to take on, but all it really involves is taking control of your personal habits. Here's how:

1. Eat Right
It's common knowledge that eating healthier provides many great benefits like just feeling better overall. Eating lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and fish can greatly benefit a bad complexion. But it's important for you to also limit the amount of bad fats, sugar and caffeine you take in, particularly if you eat a lot of processed foods.

The next time you shop at the grocery store, pay attention to where specific types of foods are located within the store. You'll see that all of the fresh foods — produce, meats, fresh fish and dairy products — are along the outside walls of the store, and all of the processed foods are in the center. Keep your cart away from the center aisles and you can be assured you're making good dietary choices.

2. Drink Plenty of Water
Our bodies are made up mostly of water. Water keeps us hydrated and helps remove toxins from our bodies. Make sure to drink water every day — not just when you're thirsty, but all day long. Did you know that by the time you feel thirsty, you're already experiencing symptoms of dehydration? If you want more flavor than water has to offer, opt for teas or 100% fruit juices that don't have added sugar.

3. Get Lots of Rest
Our bodies aren't meant to be on the go all of the time. Not getting enough sleep can knock you out of whack. By getting enough rest every night and taking a nap if needed during the day, you can stay fresh and alert and keep your body balanced. When people don't have enough energy due to lack of sleep, they have a tendency to snack and drink caffeinated beverages to keep them going. Opt for a 15-minute catnap instead, and you'll be doing your body and skin a lot of good.
